Quarantine or Fructuous hiatus?

No wonder by now everyone must have gotten sick of self-quarantine and social distancing in the fear of getting ‘actually’ sick by going out. It is surely a hard time for all of us amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in January when I joined my team at Center for Automotive Research, The Ohio State University, I was very excited to start my project from April. But who has seen such a precarious virus would make us acclimate all of us to an unprecedented working system? It took some time for me to accept the things and move forward. I was disheartened and had just two words haunting me all the time – ‘Why now?’ Yet every situation can be compared to the two sides of a coin and it is up to one person to determine how he/she is gonna see and seize the opportunity.

During my high school, I was very intrigued by writings. Books like famous five and secret seven always drew my attention, not for the plots (well I read thrillers! :P) but for the articulate writing styles. And I guess now it is time for me to quench this desire of mine by channeling my thoughts and writing blogs to share ideas.

I am Shanthan Kumar Padisala, a first-year graduate student from The Ohio State University working on Battery Systems. In my writing series, I will not be discussing how it has impacted me or anyone but rather would like to talk about how I am utilizing the free time which I found after a long time and interesting metamorphism the world is going through, hoping it could inspire others.

So, buckle up guys, there’s a lot of interesting stuff coming up soon!
